Varietal composition: Merlot
Vineyards: Municipality of Malvaglia (400 m above sea level) in the Blenio Valley
Vinification: Vinified traditionally with a maceration period of 10 to 12 days at 28 - 30°C in stainless-steel tanks. The wine is matured in oak casks of 34 to 42 hl and three years old barriques for over 10 months.
Alcohol content: 12.8 % Vol.
Color: Intense and deep ruby red.
Bouquet: Intense and fruity, with notes of red berries fruits, and delicates nuances of menthol.
Palate: Fresh and fruity. Well-bodied, harmonious and elegant, with a good structure. Balanced and persistent at the finish.
Serving temperature: 16 – 18 °C
Aging: The Malvaglia 2010 will reach its full expressive potential beginning in the fall of 2012 and will continue to develop in character through 2016 and beyond if properly cellared.
