Varietal composition: 47% Chardonnay; 35% Pinot Gris; 18% Sauvignon Blanc
Vineyards: Chardonnay and Pinot Gris: Blenio Valley; Sauvignon Blanc: Sottoceneri
Vinification: Harvested only at the peak of maturity, the grapes are left to dry on palettes in specially thermoventilated chamber in order to obtain fruit of optimal concentration. The fruit is then carefully separated from the stems by hand and subjected to a gentle pressing. The extracted must is fermented and matured for 19 months in barrels of new French oak.
Alcohol content: 12 % Vol. with 91 g residual sugar
Color: Brilliant tints of deep golden yellow.
Bouquet: Complex aromas of quince, apricot, accented by notes of citrus fruit and spice (saffron, curry and ginger).
Palate: A wine of great complexity and intensity, full-bodied and with a good balance between sweetness and acidity. Elegant, with a persistent finish.
Serving temperature: 8 – 10 °C.
Aging: The Mino 2009 will reach its full expressive potential beginning in 2012 and will continue to develop in character through 2020 and beyond if properly cellared.
