Variety: Merlot
Location of the vineyards
Municipality of Giornico (390 m s.l.m.).
Winemaking: Vinified in the traditional method with a maceration period of 12 - 14 days at 28 - 32°C in stainless-steel tanks. The wine matured for 10 to 13 months in oak casks of 25 to 42 hl and in two or three year-old barriques.
Alcohol content: 12.8 % vol
Color: Intense and deep ruby red.
Bouquet: Intense and complex. With notes of blackberries, hints of liquorice and menthol, and roasted nuances.
Palate: Full-bodied, with a good structure. Fresh and fruity, mineral and elegant, tannins of perfect quantity and strength. Mineral and persistent at the finish.

Ideal Drink-Temperature:

16 – 18°C
Ageing potential: The Giornico Oro 2008 will reach its full expressive potential beginning in 2010 and will continue to develop in character through 2016 and beyond if properly cellared.
Packaging: 50 cl. in cartons of 15 bottles 75 cl. in cartons of 6 bottles 150 cl. (Magnum) in cartons of 6 bottles 300 cl. (Double Magnum) packaged singly in wood cases
