Sottoceneri (Mendrisiotto, Luganese)
Winemaking: Vinified in the traditional method with a maceration period of 9 -10 days at 28 - 32°C in stainless-steel tanks. The Gabbiano is matured in oak barrels and stainless steel tanks The quality label “VITI” is awarded upon submission of the wine for examination by the commission.
Alcohol content: 12.5 % vol
Color: Limpid ruby red.
Bouquet: Intense fruity freshness of red berries, strawberries and red currants, with a light, spicy undertone of pepper and vanilla.
Palate: Carefree, poised and delicate, with a soft tannic edge and a harmonious fullness of satisfying length.

Ideal Drink-Temperature:

16 – 18°C
Ageing potential: The Gabbiano 2006 will reach its full expressive potential beginning in 2008 and will continue to develop in character through 2012 and beyond if properly cellared.
